On a blueish rocky planet orbiting a star in a galaxy they call the “Milky Way”, an intelligent carbon-based species communicates by means of radio waves.

Any moment, they could receive a signal from their counterparts living in a distant corner of the vast Universe or a place in their vicinity. Likewise, their signals, leaking into outer space, could be discovered.
